It's so hot! I just got done moving all my babies to my lawn where they have shade and cool grass. They looked miserable in my brooder shed. I put some ice and chick boost in their water too. I think I might have to put AC in if I'm going to hatch chicks in this sort of heat.
Rain and cold here :/
I agree with you. I think people should state if something is a project, or proven pure. I know several people who had been duped with things like this, it's not fair. Some never figure it out & then they are then selling off spring as pure...some have a different view I guess, I breed dogs and horses, and in my book my chickens are to be bred the same. a bloodline and pedigree is important to me, not to others, I do not cross other breeds into mine and then say its purebred just because it looks like one, it takes quite a few generations of breeding back to purebred before its considered purebred again. My point was, people who cross breeds, then call them whichever breed it most resembles, thats dishonest in my book. call them what they are, someone will buy them., not me, but someone will. and if you sell me one and I figure out what you did....
creating a new color or breed takes time, so that is why they are called projects, and I admire those that say nope these are projects so not selling as purebred yet. I appreciate that kind of breeder.
OH MY WORD! How pretty is he!
