The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Seems like I never stop worrying about who might be a roo. This is my current source of concern (I can't have a rooster in my neighborhood). "She" was feather sexed as a pullet at 3 days. Feet/legs are no bigger than any of my other chicks but she is feathering out slower than my other English Orp and the comb..... What do you think. I hope not - I'm loving her coloring! Looks like a little roo to me... Sorry :( I hope I'm wrong though!

Yup I think boy myself. SO my next question is.... The breeder I got my two English Orps from said if we got a roo he would take back or swap for a pullet. My chicks are 5 weeks old. Is that already too old for just swapping a chick. Wouldn't it be a whole introduction process? And should I wait longer before knowing "for sure"?

I hope I'm wrong, but looks like a cockerel to me, wattle development & comb plus the more upright stance make me think so... I'm always better at jusdging this in other peoples birds than my own...

I think its a boy too . Look at his legs and feet they are huge. He going to be a big boy.

Interesting. "His" feet aren't any bigger than my other 4 chicks. But I think he's a boy too. Just don't know whether to try to swap for a pullet with the breeder or settle for one less chicken.
