The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

What are your prices, and what if they're damaged?
i set 4 cockerels to the side for next years breeding pen

but i surely don't need all 4

so at this point i can either sell off one or two to people who can use them

or i can put the extras on finishing raitions & send them to camp in a couple months

i like the selling better than the freezer camp idea

i'm guessing i would take $20 each for them

i will be glad to provide pictures of the two that are avalible

& i'll put different colored leg bands on them

so there are no mix ups as to which you are buying

The face looks very off with the big white earlobes.

This one looks more like a 5-6 mo old black orp to me.

So what ya'll gotta say for me? Did I get snookered?
It'll be ok if they're blacks as long as they ARE Orpingtons.

Here are 2 of my Orps now at 7.5 months.

Here's the same black Orp below at 5 then 6 months. She's a standard Orp, not a fancy English Orp. Still very slow to mature with no color in the comb & wattles until 6 mo. She's not even "red" now, so no eggs in the near future for me.

Hi I am just wondering if anyone knows if/ where there is a SOP for English Partridge Orpingtons. I am enjoying watching my 12 week old Orps grow but don't know what I should be looking for besides their lovely rounded basketball bottoms!

thanks for any info!

I was able to get the guy(not a breeder) I got these from to call me back.

I asked what they are crossed with.
He said NOTHING. They may not be the original but they are pure.
When I asked what hatchery He said not hatchery, that they are from Greenfire Farms.
Which I didn't believe from my own looking previous to any of this!

Anyway he sent me pics of his 1.5 year old hen that has white ears and is supposedly according to him from GF too.
I emailed him back asking for full body shots cause this doesn't show much.

Now I'm trying to be nice and find a way to get him to take them back.
I traded an OEGB Roo & Hen and some $ for his.

I asked him about them being BLACK when I looked in the box. He said they'd get the blue fluff later when were older.
I didn't really think nothing of it due to previously having 2 different chicks born BLUE that feathered in BLACK.
((a French Blue Copper Marans (RIP) and a little bantam Cochin pullet))
My husband is mad at me again, I'm mad at me again too.

I sent you a PM. It's disheartening to hear about dishonest people selling birds. I've dealt with my fair share; it's hard to really trust anyone any more when it comes to buying or selling unless they have 'references' or feedback from others.

Advice needed: I'm rehoming 11 week old cockerels right now and have to decide which of the blues to keep. All things being equal, do I favor the darker or lighter one? I'm thinking the lighter one is probably the one to keep. Right?
