here is a pic that i took of my boy a few months backHow old is he? There were a couple lines imported and I remember one line being on the smaller side. I only see little spur nubbins so I am assuming he is about 8 months old? If so he will grow till he is about 18 months old. I think you will be surprised how much more he will grow. He is a pretty boy.

Wow..they keep on growing that long? My trio was just hatched last August (I got from someone) and they are already big! That's really interesting to know and plan an even bigger space for them.

They will continue to mature and grow (not as much as the first 9 months) but they will continue to blossom and grow up to 18 months. I have learned not to judge them till they are between a year and a year and 1/2. If you are planning to butcher that can be done between 5-7 months (unlike the 6 week broilers). But I wouldn't wait till they are 18 months if you are processing extra roosters.....![]()
I'm so glad to be down to only one cockerel. I hope he turns out beautiful, but I kept him based on his mellow personality and the fact that he was already the dominant boy in the brooder (he's also by far the largest of all the boys). My favorite for looks went to a friend's farm about an hour away (along with two girls) so I can always get eggs to hatch from him if he turns out to be worth the trouble. Three rude boys went to be rehomed via a local feed store (when I was there yesterday they said they all left in two days, people were very intrigued by them since BBS Orps aren't something you see everyday). My last "spare" boy went home with my gardener on Sunday to enjoy his own little harem. *phew*
This is Sylvester (splash on the right), 14 weeks old yesterday when this was taken:

Last week, still in the brooder:
