The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Bama... I feel like the English type Orps would (and obviously have) blow the American type out of the water at any show, so it makes sense that those gorgeous birds did so well.

I mean, you have to consider the bird's heritage. Originally they are from the UK, so for me that original type is where the preference lays. I feel it's probably the same with most judges, even if they won't necessarily admit it.

Minerva is beautiful.

Joy, do you know if any of my babies are mothered by Minerva?

Julie, (BamaChicken) also has English Orps. She imported eggs just like Joy did.

So now we're going to have to start distinguishing our lines with different coat of arms!

Yup, going to have to keep the English stock leg banned just like the American Standard!

Julie - you need to post another picture of Charlie on here for Jeremy to see.

Jeremy - Julie imported eggs from England and has a gorgeous blue boy, Charlie. My Minerva that Julie sent me is from Charlie and she is stunning...truly stunning. Bluebell is from Winston and Minerva. Yes, you should have some Minerva chicks in your babies. (See pictures of Minerva nd Bluebell below) Not only is Minerva stunning, she is one of the sweetest girls I have. You should also get some Matilda babies...another 50% English pullet that Julie sent me. (See picture below)

I need to get new pictures today. I will try to get photos of everybody this afternoon and post. I have quite a few Winston/Minerva chicks that I hatched out for myself to keep. I'm keeping the pullets. Luckily, I have only cockerel of Winston/Minerva that I will rehome.

Sandy - They are REALLY looking wonderful !! More photos when you get the chance, please !!!
