Hi,
This may already have been addressed, but could not find it.
Should I bath or trim the little messes on my 1/2 English Orps bottoms.
Want to take pictures but they are a little messy right now.
Thank You

Beautiful girls. Don't you have a nice splash cockerel to breed with them too?

Thank You Julie! yes I can take these two down to that nice splash, Carol has him but I can leave these two with her later on and get eggs. The one girl looks like she is going to start laying any day now, the other is just getting pink in the face. but I cant wait!! they are just big!! and so fluffy like Jeremy said

just makes me want more....

They look really English and I think crossing them with the Splash woud be good although you will get half splash. You can always breed that to black and get all blues then if you have good type. Hope it turns out really good for you.

I would love to see more pictures of Splash males.

I feel as if my own is growing out nicely so far, but it would be even more helpful to see what others have in the Splash department to compare Edmund to.

Hey Jeremy,

How old is Edmund now? I'll try to get some more pictures of Nigel here in the next few days as it is supposed to be sunny and warm. Nigel was 5 months old on 01/13/2011. Maybe some Nigel pictures will help some.

RR - Very lovely looking girls you have growing out there. Love the last pictures...that tiny little rooster and those two big butts !!!

Bama that is the plan for now. all of them came from your stock so I dont see how I could get anything bad out of it

I might even show one of them in the local show just for fun. never shown a chicken before!

Joy I had to get them a rooster lol. my little Serama is named Larry and they pick on him but he does his best to watch over his girls like a proper roo should hehe. eventually I will have a nice orp roo for them but for now Larry will do...cause he is to short to get the job done!

Joy, Edmund will be 5 months old this Saturday actually! I remember thinking he and Nigel were around the same age, I'd love to see some more pictures of your big goofball.

I'm really excited to see how my kids mature over these next couple of months, did you catch the post where I wrote about one of my girls squatting for me when I tried to pick her up? I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet for eggs, but I'm ready to see them grow and change even more as they reach the 6 to 8 month point in their development.

As far as the splash color goes for males, is there any "color preference" like there is with the blues? I know there isn't a formal standard for the splash color, but I'm wondering if there are things I should be keeping an eye out for.
