The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

This is Elizabeth, she's one of my lightest colored hens, only a bit darker than my Alice. Her and Alice are also some of my biggest, fluffiest girls so I'm wondering if there could be some truth behind your theory tennesseeckn as both of their combs have only a touch of red color. You can see from the pictures that Elizabeth's comb is still very pink.

I guess she felt like posing today.

See her comb? Still small and pink, she'll probably be one of those girls that makes you wait 8 months for an egg...

Jeremy, definitely a late bloomer. She will keep growing. She sure is a fluffy thing. She aught to pair up just right with Tyson. That is the young cockerels name. Of course you can change it. We have been calling him Tyson since he was about 8 weeks old. He started crowing early and reminded us of our Grandson when he would throw his chest out and his head back.

I have been hatching weekly for a while. I am about done except for a few select breedings. If anyone is wanting chicks let me know. I have a few sold and I am not setting anymore unless there is a request.

Jeremy - She is absolutely gorgeous !!! I know she is a Winston/Minerva baby - those 2 sure made some beautiful birds !!!

Can't wait to see pictures of your new boy.

Julie, I cannot wait to get him to his new girls! Or to start hatching and having kids of their own. I've got to go to the bank this morning to make a deposit and I plan on PayPaling you today for my new boy. I'm honestly amazed at how fluffy her and Alice both are. It's almost as if their "stuffing" is splitting their feathers out of their sides and popping out!

Joy, her and Alice are almost identical. I can't remember which but one of them has a better comb. I love them both very much! I know it probably will be a bit longer before I get any eggs but lately they sure have been making a fuss like they want to lay. They'll follow me around the yard and "talk", then they will go back to the coop and poke their noses around in the nest boxes. It's almost like they're teasing me.

His comb has not started turning red yet. He has a small comb. Just what I am wanting. His brother who is blue is the dorkiest thing. His comb is all red and he looks like a little basketball. I am waiting to see what he turns into. He is a bossy thing too. I have about 30 chicks hatched so far. I am trying to limit myself to 50.

I agree with Joy. Minerva and Winston make some really awesome blue girls together.

Fun, Fun, Fun all this chicken breeding and hatching.

He's crowing though? Have you seen him try to mate any pullets yet Julie?

I really like the "basketball shape".

Hopefully he matures like his brother!
