She looks quite "coy' peeking over her shoulder while sticking out her caboose!! Soooo pretty. MMMMMM....I think FANNY as a name would be appropriate!

Fanny, now i do like that, but i would have to add a Mae to it like Fanny Mae.

Love story about Hoss. He is a good Boy. My husband is glad your husband likes him.

Pretty girl Julie !!! I like Fanny - that is cute. Fanny Pantaloons.

My hubby is silly - he claims the GL chicks are all his. He is naming them silly names that start with gold - Dust, Bullion, Coin, Dubloon, Chain, Karat, and the silly list goes on !!!

Kassandra - I have a pretty girl that Julie sent me named Matilda - and she is quite the bossy girl !!

I love the Hoss story !! That is just wonderful !! Thanks for sharing with us.

the baby that got whacked in the head seems just fine this morning. out and about and skirmishing for her fare share of scraps. will keep an eye on it for a while though.

Need some advise on keep/cull. I have 17 or so offspring from my bama kids. Wouldn't you know if but it appears the majority of them are pullets!!

I would normally be extremely happy but I am looking for a few cockerels to narrow down my next set of show stock. With that being said the first group I have looks to be big and old enough to start making look overs to see who would stay or go. It is a 7-8 week old group of three pullets. All three are completely different. There is a tall long legged pullet, a medium shorter legged with an obvious fuller skirt and a small pullet but she has long legs. I am thinking I like the middle pullet with the more English look to her???

The next group is two 5 week old pullets not quite ready to look over yet but coming soon... I would love to keep them all but not really looking to add 12 or so black pullets to the flock so some are going to start to have to go.

If they don't work out though, put me down for a couple chicks when you get a big bunch! I've got one more batch of eggs coming to put in after my current batches, and then I've got to be done hatching for awhile and figure out where all these chicks are going to go!!!

Tamara I hope they are... you should check them tonight just to make sure, I have seen him in action so hopefully when I go to collecting some they will be fine. you got the first collection and I had no idea fertile or not lol. some were when I cracked em! check your broody and if none are good we can grab a couple more, check them and then set some more under her
