well... Brumbaugh and Hollander segregated and extracted Mahogany out of Buff Minorcas, Mahogany is also present on Dann Honours buff leghorns.

I want a bird with her type in my flock, the short almost non existent back with that tail angle is what I want to breed towards.

Oh I didnt know that. So the buffs have a dilute gene that covers up the Mahogany gene?
 
I have been lurking to learn....but if you don't mind I have a photo I took yesterday that I took of my 3 week old Lavendar orps. I thought it was cute and you may like to see it:

this is correct. while Dominant Dilute and Champagne Blonde work to cancel Mahogany, both mahogany and Domiant Dilute were found to be minor Columbain like restrictors working toghether with Co or Db to make a bird devoided of melanin..
