Yes you are correct, a splash can not produce a black, ever. Not splash to black, splash to splash or splash to blue, sorry!

thats right, the other black rooster from the other pen is the daddy then. his momma was in with the splash, Artie got in with the girls at some point then. Artie was still a really nice bird from some nice lines. my bad! sorry 4312 his daddy is Artie who apparently is a very fast runner !

Hey, no problems here. He is a beautiful bird. There is no denying that. I was not looking for "splashes" anyway. So I am not concerned. Would have been fun - but no worries. Again, no one can deny that he is a beautiful bird. And a nice bird. The DH loves him. DH is always going out and sitting in the pen and feeding him and his 2 pullets treats.

Our Lemon Cuckoos . Could they be better? Sure - this was not a direct import and we bought from the same line early on as others have. We bought 20 chicks in the beginning and had to cull very heavily...matter of fact - down to 3 roosters and 6 hens....cull either for little barring or just not the right look. This breed will need some new blood and possibly looking into that next year.
