The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Next up I have the beautiful Chocolate and Black English Bantam Orps I got from Jordan Farms. It was rather hard taking pictures of them since they love to crowd around your feet. Two of them kept jumping up on my shoulder.

As you can see, this is the guy with the copper leakage. It just isn't in his hackles. So far he is the dominate roo and I have to rehome him.

Okay, I got a few pictures of my guys. I'm hoping someone can tell me if one of the splash's I have is a roo or hen. So here they are:

This was the young splash I got from Roger in August. I believe he was 2 weeks old when I got him and I'm positive it is a rooster.

This is the second splash I got from Roger. I believe it was 1.5 months old back in August when I got it. At first I thought it was a rooster but now I'm not sure.

This is the blue roo I got from Roger the same day I got the 2 splash. I love this guy. His name is Spartacus.

That second splash is a pullet, I betcha! Love the big boy, Spartacus too.

Well show day was today! Been up since 3:30 and am beat. But.....our Black Orp Cockerel got BV and BB! This was a Jersey Giant National meet, so way more of them here than Orps, but we are just so happy not to have DQ'd on any chooks. This is our first time showing chickens, we've gotten lots of guidance and support from the people here on BYC (and of course the good vibes from all of you!)

I'll post pics when we get home. : )

Bama,
Julie your legacy lives on as a 6 month old black pullet from your line won Best English at the #2 show in Denver this week end. You are such an inspiration for the dedication to the breed. I am sure the young fellow is very thankful for you contribution to the Hobby. Harry
