Avec.... we will be thinking you and many others here on the east coast. I hope everyone was able to get to the store for supplies. We couldn't get water bottles.. soo opted for 5 gal buckets with lids... Line the bucket with a brand new garbage bag... fill with water.. tie off the top and put the lid on it. I will use a dipper to draw water from it. We have a genny... but never could get the electrician to come hook up a junction box on our breaker box.our pump is a two twenty that is wired directly into the box.. soo no way to get power to the pump for water. This sucks... all these animals.. and I can't even use our well.
a shout out to Vickie, Dee, Roger and the rest of the NC byc group..hope you are all safe and sound in this storm..its going to roundhouse us so working com center this morning..renie, nellie hoping it isnt going to tilt that way...so far we have the bullseye right here.stay safe everybody!
Nellie, thinking about you ...Well..we'll keep you posted as the power allows..Renie we have grunfaus pump and 1940s wind jammer power plus solar that is down at the moment just to put it back out after the storm..the winjammer folds itself up and shuts itself down in real high winds, then unfolds as it calms..it keeps water pumping any time.. they dont make things like they used to that thing has worked since the 40s and 50s...
i can just see my new winterization of the barn flying all over the place.. we hoped all of it would stay east but not looking that way.if you look at the track..it is directly over us..the only thing worrying everyone here down through pa is power out and flooding...
national guard are pulling into town to be on hand in case of flooding..maybe over reaction, but after last year, they dont want to take chances..chickens staying in safe and dry ..
last year they litetally had river pirates robbing houses going house to house in upstairs windows the guard is there to help evacuation if needed and watch out for the river pirates.these guys were going in the windows during the storm and shortly after ...they were going in doctors houses houses after jewelrey coins anything they could get their hands on...keep in mind power lines were down everywhere .so i wont tell you what happened to a couple of those guys..pretty brazen...it looks like a war bunker downtown with sandbags everywhere..we live on top of the hill.so just hoping the wind doesnt get too bad.
sent husband down after supplies, he came home with candy bars chips and pretzles and beer..![]()

Prayers sent ur way. I will never forget when I was in LA when Katrina did its devastation. We seen many ugly things, but it was those special moments giving care to the people is what Humanity is all about. I will always carry that knowledge and experience with me.
