I've already warned my husband, if our tornado warning goes off, the chicks are coming in! He just rolled his eyes. He knows I mean it. Even if it's in the middle of the night, in my pj's, with a flashlight.

Glad y'all are alright Nellie,
I got a couple of pictures to share to day, This is the boy I have decided to keep this year out of my older roo. & one of my hens he is about 8 months here. One of my older black hens, she is finely putting back on good feathers.

This made me laugh. I imagined myself with a flashlight gathering up chickens and ducks and putting them in the basement. I think it would more than likely be my DH before I would do that. I don't think my basement would house all of them for very long.

(thank you Roger for the kind thoughts)

My pullets are at least a couple of months from laying (I think), but was wondering if anyone tried adding ACV to their water and successfully hatched more pullets? Sounds too good to be true, but some out there say it's so. I just don't know them personally. I would love at least a 50/50.

Dee,
I will let you know. I have about 10 chicks that the hens were on ACV. They are now three weeks old. I can't tell sex. I am horrible at it. Before I tried it, the hatch out was 5 cockerels and 1 hen. My odds have just got to be better! I seem to get mostly cockerels. I figure it helps in so many other things regardless. Same hens this time so it should be a tell.

Last batch. All cockerels

This batch?

hard for me to sex them anymore
