The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

No, I hope they come before Thanksging.

I shipped them priority ... dang it... Maybe today.

I don't worry about the birds getting cold in my coop...the water in the storage jugs even at 20 degrees have not frozen yet. The walls and ceilings are insulated, deep litter on the floor, and LOTS of big fat fluffy birds in there to keep each other warm. Every feeder is kept full and the heated bowls are filled 2x a day. Both sides of the Chicken Duplex has a short door left open. There are vents way up near the ceiling on the divider wall which extends higher than the roof of the other half and one awning window is propped open about 4 inches to keep the humidity down. They won't freeze... but keeping the combs on the Roos in good shape isn't easy.

Danny started crowing in our house about 3:30 this morning... Thank goodness I have a wonderful husband that gets woke up at that hr and says.. You know he has nice sounding crow. :) It is as pretty as he is.. hahaha

I would like to take this time to say I have so much to be Thankful for this yr. My daughter and grand baby moved up here last yr so we are now able to share wonderful family time with them. I have a loving husband that works hard and a dear sweet son. I am thankful for the wonderful chicken friends I have had the opportunity to make online, the fabulous Orps I have been blessed with and Because of it... I have a new adopted family. Vivi is the kind of sister I never had. Oh and Thank you Lord for a terrific hunting season too :)

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!! <hugs>
