The khaki-Campbell duck Thread !!!!!!!!

Hmmm, I call those duck kisses. Mine will run to me and if I don't have a snack for them they will do a quick nibble and run away. I always thought they were saying hi and were trying to straighten my feathers. I say this because they will nibble at the seams of my jeans like they are trying to fix them.
Your foraging makes more sense though. I am a food source and that is how they get food from the mud. My version made it seem a sweeter thing.

When can ducklings swim? I was thinking of letting them swim in the sink (supervised of course) but since their not fully feathered would it just soak them through?

I have let all mine swim at a couple days old... always supervised. Yes after a few times of diving and dipping they will start to soak up water so thats when i take them out once they are all wet.
I usually use luke warm water so they dont get too chilled.. but in my experinece they never like the water too warm.
I would be careful with the sink since its raised up high.. sometimes they dart accross real fast or dive real fast and when i have used a tub or bowl on the ground they have shot right out of the bowl when they are having too much fun lol.
I usually use the bathtub and fill it so little deeper on deep end and a towl on the shallow so they can get out of the water if they decided:)
And have fun its far too cute watching ducklings swim
