The khaki-Campbell duck Thread !!!!!!!!

So both of my Khakis are making a huge variety of noises, including that fart, sneeze, cough noise that I thought was indicative of females. However Calvin seems to have some blueish feathers coming in. They are around 7 weeks old I believe (not entirely sure how old they were when I got them at TSC). So I'm just wondering, is there any chance that Calvin is a girl, or am I looking at a Drake?
This was a quick up close pic to show what I'm talking about.

This is "her" surrounded by "her" chicken sisters.

Don't know for sure but "her" might very well be "him". Does the one in the carrier also have a darker head? That is often one of the first signs that you have a male.

I'm very interested in this breed! I'm debating between pekin, Rouen, and khakis! Pekins are too loud, Rouens fly, but khakis.... Are they friendly?

The dark head makes me think you've got a young drake there. See the pic, nearer of the two khaki Campbell's on the left is a drake- See the head/neck coloration?

As far as being friendly... All of our ducks are more skittish than the chickens, many of whom will run right to the gate & get underfoot, and several of which enjoy perching on a shoulder for treats.

The ducks hang back- But wade into the chickens for their share of the treats!

Mine aren't nearly as friendly as the chicks I bought (production reds). They're reported to be a "nervous" breed. Supposedly their strong points are good foraging and egg laying potential that'll rival any chicken. I'm sure each animal is different and with enough effort you can tame just about any domestic breed, but if you want a "friendly with people" sort of bird there's other breeds with more promising reviews.

So I came by these 6 KC via my mother who got them and then got a debilitating foot problem and could no longer care for them. I am building them a run today so this cage is temporary!
Do you think they are girls? She's had them about 2 months and bought them as chicks at TSC.
Will they learn to fly? I don't want to put a top on their run if I don't have to.
I've learned they do not enjoy my company so I feed and water them and enjoy them from afar.

Khaki's don't really fly. When they do it is low to the ground and for short distances. I would definitely put a top on the run. You want to keep your birds protected from predators. The khaki's may not be able to get out but lots of different animals could get in.

So my two are very friendly, Duckbro will sit with me and let me hold her, Calvin is a bit more standoffish, but she still comes up and takes treats from my hands and will let me pet her head, and sometimes her back, and both follow me EVERYWHERE. That said I did start earlyish with bribing them with meal worms and fresh romaine lettuce. and just sitting with my hands resting in the brooder box.
