The Lair....Quilt Central...Woman Cave-New Projects in Progress!

Still working on getting those stupid labels off the filing shelf thing. Ouch, my aching shoulder! Almost finished quilting the table topper in the shades of green, but had to stop for someone to come pick up a chicken this morning.

I think this space will help me keep on being creative. It was too hard to keep going when I felt I was keeping the house a big mess by doing it all in the great room area, right out in the main flow of all activity.

Tell me about it, I need to get organized so I can get back to my beading projects *ahem*. But I swear there seems to be no time between chickens, ducks, a Diva Horse, chiropractor, endocrinologist, looking for new cardio doc, college, life and sleep; when I can get it and well the normal stuff (dishes, floors, laundry, fires, firewood duty....blech)

Come organize me Cyn and bring Suede and My Little Love and the Pest.

As I was cleaning today and trying to organize my quilt magazines I wished I had one of those shelf deals. It would be just right for magazines......

You have my dining table,,, except mine is natural wood. Mine is covered up in the dining with club and sewing and crochet stuff. I need to empty out my office and re-purpose an area in it. Don't you just love how you can "re" in front of any word and invent totally accept new one?

Except sew, I never like to have to re-sew.....

Oh the seam ripper, oh I hate thee!

Had to do with my old CW camp dress, convert it to an apron with flap above it, pinned on either corner of it on my good dress whenever I cook over the campfire.
Took me a good day to rip it in pieces, took out half of the skirt, attach a piece of apron strings on it and finish sewing the edges. Phew! Not bad for an amateur that have NO idea how to sew but just looking at the sewing pieces, you can figure out what the seamtresses did to the dress.

I never got around to get to JoAnn's Fabrics to get some lessons in sewing. Bad thing is, the new Brother sewing machine is tempermental, likes to clog up the bottom stitching and gets into the bottom bob all tangled up. GRRRRR! I reset the tension but still a mess. It looks fine on the top part, neatly stitched but flip the fabric over, aaargh!

Table Topper Complete! Now, just need to put a label on the back and on to the next project....I think after I quilt that colorful wallhanging/table topper on my design wall, I may just do another Tennessee Waltz quilt, but this time with the 12" blocks and make it a queen size. Could change my mind, though. I'd like to do a couple small things for friends, if I feel like it. Still working on those darn stickers on the shelving unit, but they're almost off.
Pic taken before binding was sewn to the back so you can see the flat-head pins sticking out, but it's done now.
