The Lair....Quilt Central...Woman Cave-New Projects in Progress!

Yes, I decided! I am doing a checkerboard sort of border of green and gold-yellow with purple corner squares-it will be a table topper, I guess you'd call it. I'm finding I just love blenders and intensely bright tone-on-tone colors in addition to my usual earth tones. Will post pics when done. I didn't have more of those exact fabrics left over from making the quilt that block came from, at least not enough to do anything else with, but I did have some that are very, very close in color/tone/intensity.

These tubs are the way I store fabric right now. Obviously, can't see what I have at a glance this way.

Here is the "box" for basement stair headroom I was talking about where my incubator usually sits when in use-it is the most stable temp in the house and the least amount of drafts, which is why I put it there. Some sort of shelves could be up on that, too, in addition to between the table and the desk.

Over the stairs would be a great place for shelves... Your room is so condusive to work!!! You can see outdoors, you have places to put shelves to store your goodies... I am so glad you shared with us!!!! And the yellow and purple would make a great table runner for spring.....

Forgot to mention that I have one of the receivers for the coop baby monitor in the room, too. Can hear any major disturbance around the coops/pens while working on that side of the house, which is opposite side to where the coops are. I'm loving it! Wish I'd done this sooner, but now I have to find another table for my dining area, LOL. At least that one can be any shape and the size can vary. This one I'm using for a work table is a good size and shape for sewing.

You just gave me an idea. I used to have a huge filing shelf when I was a realtor. The slots aren't huge, but it may work. I'll have to go down to the basement and see if DH is using it for anything. Let me see... BRB.

This one--would it work, sitting on top of that box thing? DH had only a few papers sitting in it, not really using it.

Took down a picture and added a small design wall. Amazing how much you can pack in a small bedroom, LOL.

Yep, I'd get hubby a two drawer filing cabinet at Goodwill and move that shelf unit to your sewing room...in a heartbeat!
The head space over the stairs would make a nice cutting space...equipped with your cutting matt and space on the wall to hang your rulers.... with an overhead cabinet for storing fabrics or quilting books.....

Love the checkerboard border.

I don't think that shelf unit would work very well for you ... you need to send it to my place!

That is almost exactly what I am going to have DH make for my sewing room. I have found that I don't like to stack too much fabric together and smaller shelves like that will allow access to the fabric you want without moving all the other fabrics stacked on top of it.

You can hang your rulers on the exposed end and have them handy at all times.

Love your block you put on the wall! I did a mystery quilt in almost the same colors.

Great! Then, I'll work on removing those pesky stickers with some alcohol and get that thing moved up here. DH has plenty of places to keep papers; in fact, there is a 2 drawer filing cabinet in the room I'm working in right now if he wants to put them in it.
