Luka smiled back at her, looking for possible ways to get out. He saw a window that had a tree beneath it...that was an option once she harnessed her powers.

Jade noticed the tree and went over to the window to look at it curiously. It would take a bit of growing to be strong enough to climb down, but it could work. Her attention shifted to the horizon and she sighed softly. It was a nice view.

"Ah a smart one, I could have used you in school to study with. I was not the smart one in the family by any means. I was lucky to have finished school at all." Maddox said with a chuckle, he almost wished he could go back to such simple times. "I don't do a whole lot with my free time these days either. Heck even trying to practice my magic is tough, it has a tendency to burn things down." He said with a frustrated look, he wished he had better control.

Ara looked at Maddox and chuckled at his complaining about the schoolwork then tilted her head "Couldn't you have an earth mage make a bulwark for you to practice in without being able to start a fire in the house? Like, maybe a stone cave?" She asked curiously "Even just putting mud on the walls would give a room protection for practicing in. Or making a cave within the boundaries of the home's spell"

Maddox looked at her and blinked with his mouth open looking like an idiot, why hadn't he thought of that. Being able to practice his magic without fear of burning anything would be incredible, he was pretty much the only fire mage there and he had no mentor to help teach him. Most of what he knew was self taught. "That could work! Oh my gosh why didn't I think of that sooner, I could ask Elena to do that for me she is a pretty strong Earth mage that lives at the house. She would probably help me!" He scooped Ara up in an exuberant hug before setting her down and continuing to walk with a much brighter smile and attitude. "I might finally be able to get a hang of my crazy powers."

"Hey your ideas are brilliant! I certainly hadn't thought of doing that before. Hey if I could have somewhere to practice I might actually get some control over my powers you have no idea how bit that would be for me, what it would mean. So thank you. " He said with a sincere look hoping she would get how much it meant to him.

Well, one good thing was he got her mind off of Jade and her vanishing act for now. "You would have thought of it eventually, but sometimes it's the best thing to get an 'outsiders' opinion to see what you are too close to see.I am glad my ideas will help you. It's part of the reason we went to the woods to start with, to give me a place to practice without harming anything. Of course you couldn't go to the woods, but a nice stone cave or clay to block your fire from escaping would make a good place for you to practice safely."

"Good." Tamara said. She gave him a quick smile and continued preparing dinner. "It should be ready in about 15 minutes." she told him.
