Jade blushed at his comment and hugged him close "I love you" Such simple words, but they held a wealth of meaning. She gave him a soft kiss then got up to change into her clothes again, coming back out when she was ready. "Let's try"
Luka looked at her with soft eyes, reaching to brush against her hand, before whispering “This is what’s going to happen. I will go take care of the cameras, while you finish growing that tree. When you’re ready, I’ll come, but try to hurry up. I’ll protect you’re back. Sound good?” Luka put a hand on the doorknob, ready to run for the cameras. There were only two near the glass wall near the tree, but they were halllengths from each other so he was would have to run.
Jade nodded and waited for his signal to go to the glass so she could grow the tree up to them enough so they could escape.
Luka opened the door, and bolted away for the first camera, quick short strides getting him there. He shot an ice shard on the camera growing it more and more until their was a ball of ice around it. He then sprinted back, past Jade who was growing the tree, to the other camera, giving it the same treatment. He then sprinted back to Jade, and began building an ice barrier around them slowly. He was growing weaker as he did so, but they need some form of protection.
Jade went to the window, focusing on the tree and growing it up to them. She got the window open then stepped out onto the branch when it was close enough. It took a lot of energy to grow it so quickly, but it was needed and she wanted to help him get out. She looked back to him "Come on."
Luka nodded a second guards came rushing their way. He sent a volley of lethal ice shards, multiple of them hitting their targets. He followed Jade onto the tree after breaking the glass, then waited for her to move it downwards, keeping a head upwards at the remaining guards.
Jade hummed softly to focus her power on the tree and getting them to the ground safely. She was so focused on that that she was surprised to have the ground under her feet when they reached it.
Luka had been trying to block shots with walls of ice, but had been struck in the shoulder. He turned to her, his shirt bloody “Can you run?”
Jade reached over to take his hand "We have to" She said, she would run with him, but she wouldn't leave without him
Luka nodded, looking down at his shoulder. He ripped his sleeve off, wincing as he pulled out a dirty bullet. He placed ice on the wound to numb it, then began running with her.
