The Legbar Thread!

The Cream Legbar eggs seem more fragile. I have tried hatching from 5 different sources. Swedish Flower Hens have had way better hatch rates even when eggs were same dates and source as the Cream Legbars.

I've had the completely opposite experience from my own flock. I've had a horrible time hatchiń SFHs with hathcing only 25-50% but my legbar eggs hatch consistently at 75% or higher.

Hi all I finally hatched my first ever Cream Legbars! On a whim I ordered just three eggs off of ebay, never thinking that I would actually win the auction! I had two of the three eggs hatch, and I ended up with a pair!

Meet Peter and Olivia!

and here they are with their motley group of hatchmates, some EasterEggers and Sizzles

Amazing robust little guys.

Only.... looks like 10 are boys, 4 are girls and one looks girl but has a big old white head blob.

Love the autosexing but seriously, seriously 10/11 out of 15 boys??????

In May I purchased 9 straight run Delawares just out of the brooder hoping for at least half pullets. What I ended up with is ALL boys. Three are awaiting freezer camp and the rest were sold for less than I paid.

On the CL front, four of my five eggs are pipping right now! WOOT! Six more eggs due to arrive from Richard Jordan this week and six more from my own girls are ready for the next round.
