well we are not all genetics experts like you nicalandia, And a production red would never come out all white sally, but since it is a cross you never know right. Maybe your just trying to throw a jab when the opportunity arises but he did say the CL was his only roo. That means a cross production red. I'm sure you had the same confusion when some of our CL came out all white (WHY WOULD THEY, WHY WOULD THEY). I'm working on a Cross that i believe will have white and colored chicks , sex linked. I need to hatch a bunch more to be certain. Anyway don't worry about it sally.

An ISA Brown Hen will produce 50% all white (some times with Black Leakage)
and 50% All Black (Some with Red Leakage)

Crossed with a White unicolour, Black or Lav Cock Bird

cross it with a Buff and you get All Buffs

If you fix the picture as type and apply the colour outlined in the standard you will not go far wrong. Compare images you see with this and judge for yourself, everyones eye is different.

Looking at the pictured roo, I think it is important to realize that he is a cockerel and would have filled out more as an adult.

I think the thing that struck me first-off about his guy is his comb. It seems like a lot of the combs I have been seeing on roos are much larger and many, many have the front even with the front of the beak. I like this guy's comb much, much better.

Looking at the pictured roo, I think it is important to realize that he is a cockerel and would have filled out more as an adult.

I think the thing that struck me first-off about his guy is his comb. It seems like a lot of the combs I have been seeing on roos are much larger and many, many have the front even with the front of the beak. I like this guy's comb much, much better.

i was noticing the comb also. and the ears. I noticed rees cl earlobes are not rounded. I think im seeing the leghorn earlobes on some of our cl roos and CL earlobes on others. Is the Rees birds earlobes correct they are a bit more extended than the one pictured in this link.

I thought the same thing about being a cockerel - no doubt that is why the comb is proportionally small (looks like only 4 points, too) and he appears so leggy. I like the long back and upright posture, and hope to see some tail angles like that as well.

It is quite surprising isnt it, judgements and comparisons are made on todays images yet the images that were taken when the breed was " there in the flesh as intended by the breeders" are overlooked.
