The Legbar Thread!

Today is a perfect example of why I am making rose combed legbars. It got down to 48 last night. I went out and both of the single comb cockerels I am keeping have purple tips on their combs

We got way down to 70 and had 1/2 inch of rain.... time to break out the jackets here. LOL

Just wanted to share some pictures of my "motley crew". I have the whole spectrum.

#1 - My white sport female

#2 - My "Splash" Cream Legbar roo. This is a very rare variety of the cream legbar. Not very many people have it. But I do. Kind of like the Brown Hayden Marans!

#3 - My regular Cream Legbar roo.

#4 - Hapa BCM/ hapa CLB - Marbar? Male

#5 - Pure Black Copper Marans - Looking like a roo too? Please say pullet

Cream Legbars come in splash? What do the adults look like?

Interesting.... Your 'splash' looks half regular and half white-sport. Never have seen that before your photo.

Broody give up, smashed 3 of the eggs, I smashed the remaining three then an hour after she went broody again.

I just hatched some eggs that were supposed to be cream legbar. The eggs were the right colour, but I have 2 black chicks, 2 yellow ones and a grey one! I think someone else might be the daddy!!

So sorry. I had my hen give up after 2 weeks of sitting. Then complete molt!

Isn't there a recessive white(sport) and also a dominant white? Could this white be codominant?
