You can also buy a color chart for just blue eggs from the Ameraucanas Breeders Club. Not expensive. 5-7 dollars.

Amazon or any paint store. It is not only used for web design but also for paint, interior design, etc. they even have an app for it now. Or just go to a university book store. Personally I would just buy their app or find a used Pantone book. Pantone usually only adds a couple hundred paint colors a year, so even a 10 year old Pantone chart would obtain more colors than you can ever use.

In case you ever wondered how they match paint colors at the hardware store it is because of Pantone. I used to be in charge of digital media for Science Magazine. We used Pantone color charts because we published NASA's scientific papers as well as those for NIH. Trust me scientists want the same color represented online as well as in print.

So if we could get the APA to use Pantone, we would never again have the discussion about what color is cream.

Well I have an ABC egg color chart but it doesn't have as many colors and doesn't really have one that matches. Bottom line is my hens eggs are not as blue as I would like and they are more green than I would like.

Pantone recommends you buy a book every year as light and use can fade the colors in the books. If you want it ACURATE you would need one every year. Seems a waste to buy a pantone book for just the LIGHT BLUE SECTION. You can get paint chips at the paint store for FREE!

I have been in the printing industry since I can remember since my mother owned a Engraving Co. and I still have all the equipment. Strange this is the first recomendation I have heard to use the Pantone system.... mostly because of the cost I would think. We bantered back and forth on another thread about feather color and Walt (fowlman01) was also in the printing industry and he didn't seem to think that was a option either.

Those charts are really expensive. I don't know if many people would pay that much for a color chart. Unless you know a cheap place to buy them?

I already have a paint sample of every shade of blue and green that I think are applicable for egg color

My personal opinion is that we don't have to be so exact on color as to make the expense of Pantone worth it. At some point it even becomes difficult to tell one color from the next. The OAC has the number of colors and the cost to make it practical and useful my opinion.

Curtis I lost my pullet from you overnight last night. Third bird to this dratted weather this week. Number one was a young CL pullet (about 8 wks) in a new pen and slept up against the welded wire and the dog pulled her head through. Number two was an Isbar cockerel about 9 weeks old, best I can figure he got smothered in the coop that same night although that is rather old for smothering. I ran a light out to that pen last night so I haven't lost any more in there. Then last night your girl fell off the roost dead, but we were down at 0 F so it was C.O.L.D. for what they were used to. Yeesh I'm ready for us to get above freezing, twice a day water runs get OLD when we don't have water or electric out to the new chicken yard yet! We will be below freezing until at least middle of next week though.

Happy note- my last hatch was dismal, only 2 made it to hatch, but one was a very light CL male. He and his hatchmate (a BCM) and a slightly older Isbar chick are chilling in the shed in a borrowed brooder with a 125 watt bulb and a cardboard box to keep the heat in. They seem to be staying nice and warm even though they are only 2 weeks old! I didn't post about him yet though becauseI thought he wouldn't make it as he had unabsorbed yolk or something that never fell off his navel. It's finally crusted over well and I think eventually it will come off on its own. The next batch of eggs in the bator all seem to be duds, but they were up to 3 weeks old when I set them. Not setting any more for a while until I can confirm fertility and the weather warms up a little.
