The Legbar Thread!

You cna get VetRX at tractor supply, many feed stores if they have it in stock, and also on line.

x2 Thanks K! I get mine at TSC
I wonder with his wattles continuing to dip in the water if the vet rx will wash off in the water and be bad for the chickens to drink
Actually it's safe to drink and used that way to help with stress, so that would be fine. You may want to consider a different drinking approach though, like a small cup versus a large drinking space. I use one that automatically fills for chicks in my big 5 gallon waterers. Does that make sense?

I heard Vaseline was supposed to help prevent frostbite too on combs and wattles. But the thought of having it on my fingers in the cold doesn't sound good.. Don't understand why that would help. Just what I heard.

I can't say whether it's true or not, but I remember reading somewhere that it 's the rubbing and massaging of the comb that helps, not necessarily the vaseline.

X2 what KP said...The directions for cure for eye worm are to pour into mouth so it can't be harmful.

You might want to read the lastest edition of the Backyard Poultry magazine. There is an article in there about eye worm and how VetRX does not treat it. It's interesting since it references a thread on BYC about eye worm.

Wonder if it was the eye worm thread I wrote. Here is how VetRX would help with eye worm. It would help to wash it out..probably drown the eye worm because it is a bit oily and viscous..is that the word?? I sent to the Phillipines for a product that kills the eye worm how ever, and relied on that. It is called oxy Rid if memory serves. Never the less there are directions in VetRx to treat eye worm. I suspect that multiple treatments would be in order.
