Quoting myself so you'll remember who I am.
Anyhoo, I got some more CCL eggs and 2 hatched. And they're both girls. So now I have 3 girls and still no boy!

Are you going to the Bluebonnet Classic in College Station? I have a boy that may be a spare (I want to breed one of these two brothers back to their grandmother/mother -- when she/they are ready -- to try to get 7/8ths her genetics) -- although he is little -- He was hatched in September. I also have a cockerel - (who won RB and RV at the Klein FFA Alumni show Dec 6th --but then I was the only person with Cream Legbars there - so he was evaluated the best of the three that I took to the show). I am going to take him along with his sisters to College Station. -- He is already mature and breeding - Right now I have plenty of chickens and some in the incubator that yesterday all were developing according to my candling -- So old Ice is still fertile - at nearly 3-years old.Quoting myself so you'll remember who I am.

Congrats on the pullets! I hope you find yourself a good looking male to pair up with them. Good luck!
Ok, I am looking for a Cream Legbar rooster. My hens have started laying again and I would like to start up the incubator and try again. Does anyone in SC have an extra rooster?
Edited - I would prefer a crele colored rooster, so a 'cull' rooster with fairly good type would be great!
That sounds accurate. The breed is still uncommon. I was prepared to pay $47 for shipped day-olds until I found a local breeder selling them for $25
A lot of us paid $45 to $150 a pullet for our first ones. So the prices actually are coming down. Just please do your research first, because there are all levels from pet to show quality available now, and the prices should reflect that quality.
you May want to check the Cream Legbar Club's member list - and see if anyone is near you. You may be able to get a pullet chick for a very reasonable price.
A lot depends upon what you want to use your CLs for.... Hopeuflly also, you get to see what the parent birds look like. so glad to hear that you are interested in the breed. :O)

I just hatched two CCL roosters!. LOL. I haven't chosen to cull one yet because I may loose one to predators. If you would like one you're welcome to him. They are about a month old now.![]()
