arlene is a character from her expression. Pretty colors of eggs. Does your camera shoot very "saturated"? or is everything that dark in 'real life'.
They are sure cute day-olds!!! You got 9/9!? Big congratulations -- Where did your eggs come from? All 9 of the eggs that went into lockdown hatched overnight! I believe I have 5 males and 4 females, hoping y'all can confirm?
I think the three on the far right are female, as well as the one on the left in the front. The other 5 have yellow head spots and not very defined stripes or eyeliner.
I'm unsure about this one, I'm leaning female, she has no head spot but her stripes aren't very clear either:

Thanks all. Sorry for the blurry pics, it's so hard to get them to stand still! Here's another photo, the blurry one in the middle is definitely a girl. The iffy one I was holding is on the far right, he/she doesn't have a defined V, but he/she's rocking some serious eyeliner. I'll be curious what it turns out to be.
I thought that the top of the head could be lighter too, but sometimes photos fool ya, it looks like no lighter area in the top-down photo -- and as you say -- eye liner is very definite.I feel like the one on your hand is a boy, I can't see a V, the stripes are fairly faint and it looks like it has a tiny "blonde" spot (although pulleys can have these too, and the eyeliner is pretty well defined)... Hard one, I have a feeling it's a male, time will tell!
Be sure to legband her or him -- because, they change soo so fast when they are babies..... I'm leaning toward......Thanks all. Sorry for the blurry pics, it's so hard to get them to stand still!

Quote: X2 agreeing with chicken pickin - because all the other males have definite white headspots. I think maybe if you have the choice this is one you wouldn't use in your breeding program if you decide to breed CLs. But I'm still so happy for you to have such a fabulous batch of fuzzy-butts.
ETA - YOU are going to have to post a lot as they grow -- because 1. we need more pictures of baby CLs to make us happy and 2. we will be curious - all of us what this chick turns out to be.
also -- my job is to follow chicken pickin' around and post X2
