Thanks, he looks a lot better in person even. We are enjoying them immensely. I've been so pleased with their tempermant. The pullet loves taking treats from my hand already and is very comfortable being held.

You're lucky ! My adult hen won't go near me unless I have food and you definitely can't catch her! Here she is, about two years old I think

I gave my boy to my brother in laws brother and I saw him the other day and he is beautiful, wish I had kept him. I have kept a 13 week boy to use with my little pullet and see how they get on.
I hope you get some fantastic babies !!

From what are yall are saying is GreenFire Farms sending out birds that are older than what people thought? I think somebody told me they would between 8-12 weeks. I would LOVE for mine to be older when i get them. That just means i dont have to wait as long for eggs! Sunnydalefarms your rooster is amazing! I really hope mine looks like that!

Well I for one have mixed feelings on that.

If Greenfire farms is sending out older birds, does that mean they are growing them out and selecting the best ones to keep for their own breeding stock? If so, good for them for improving their breeding stock. But on the other hand, doesn't that means the buyers are getting the culls?

It does seem they are sending some older ones out but someone mentioned that the pair they were getting soon were 8 weeks old. Maybe contact Greenfire and voice your preference?

Thanks for the compliment. He is going to produce some excellent offspring that is for sure!

Maybe it would be best to contact them and ask if that's what they are doing instead of assuming/implying. The pair I received are not culls and they are an older pair from Greenfire. I am happy to know the quality of my birds instead of having to wait for them to develop and see how they turn out.

So my birds came in today. They are settling into their temp housing, having a snack and drinking. They are so beautiful and soft as can be.
