There's a side of this that begs starting an association or club. Should it be for autosexing breeds, since many of you have the other ones. Should it be for the cream legbars? Should it be a breeder membership to promote the breed or a seller's forum to promote an association of sellers, or some sort of blend.
I live in northern, ca. I'd like to set up a booth at a poultry show (with others) next spring to show off the breed and provide education. The Stockton shows in January. Anyone interested in doing this with me or is thinking about doing somethong similiar?

I did a Cream Legbar table display at the Fancy Feathers Poultry Show in the San Antonio area last month. I invited one other Cream Legbar owner in the area to work the table with me, but was tuned down on the offer, so it was just me and my wife running things. The display looked really nice and was well recieved. We were praised (yay!) and invited to come back again next year to do a repeat. We didn't have any eggs this year. If we go back next year I want to have an egg contest if we can pull together enough people together.

As far as a club goes I would support a Cream Legbar group.

My goals right now are to 1) promote the breed through cooperation at poultry shows, 4H clubs, city coop tours, etc., 2) to establish a breeding program that can be sustained and improoved over time, 3) to break even on my initial investment by the end of the year so I can just enjoy blue egg olments without having to worry about the market value of the Cream Legbar eggs, and 4) not drive my wife or kids crazy with my chicken hobby.

Okay, it looks like #4 is not going to make any cut lists for club goals if a group is formed. Thats okay I can pull together with people that have 75% of the same goals as me. The tricky thing would be to make a club work if the members don't have any common goals.
