Good to know how the sprigs are transmitted as it is an issue with the swedish flower hens as well.

However if 2 genes are required to show the trait surely by definition that would make them recessive not dominant genes, (unless there was some sex-linking which does not seem to be the case here

)

I do believe it is a recessive trait and that's exactly what makes it such a pain to remove from your flock.

Thanks for the feedback on the comb. It's likely 3 of my 4 males will have the issue, perhaps even the 4th.

I doubt if any of the American Cream Legbar stock are free of the gene. The GreenFire foundation pair have probably passed it on to all of the offspring. My boys all seem to have crooked combs. I am not too concerned about it right now.

yep, 4 of the 5 hatched, 2 boys and 2 girls but one of the girls broke it's yolk hatching and the other has a rough naval so I separated the boys from the girls. I was thinking the temps were too high but I still have some other breeds hatching late

I think it's time to switch my fan out.....will cross my finger the girls survive but I am not sure....
