The Legbar Thread!

After years of my mom bugging me to join this site and using this site as a reference for all things chicken, the Legbars have drawn me out :) My flock is getting elderly so in planning to replace them I stumbled upon this breed. Is there a list of who all is selling legbars and the going rate? I'm especially interested in southeast breeders since some adaptation to our heat is appreciated. Anyway, I have a human I need to hatch out next month so I'll be looking more toward the fall.

and to Cream Legbars!

It's great that you finally joined.

I am in California and don't have laying hens yet--Mine are 16 and 12 weeks old.

Welcome to BYC forum and to legbars...... so I guess it goes to show "your mom was right!" Sounds like you will have your hands full -- new baby next month---and legbars in the fall! all the best!

Aww, congratulations and enjoy the wee one! And for now, put your feet up and let others bring you whatever you need. I remember what it feels like to have a bowling ball competing with my lungs and stomach for room.

The one surviving egg from my last cream legbar clutch is a.......boy. That puts my total at 4 boys and 0 girls. I've never felt so sexist in my life, but I am so disappointed I didn't get any girls. I'm determined to hatch a hen, so if anyone has any cream legbar hatching eggs for sale PM me. Also, if anyone is interested in a cream legbar roo, I'll be selling 2 or 3 of mine.
