The Legbar Thread!

Thanks, I'll look him up.

I have never shipped live birds before, but I'd be willing to once they are adults. I think they either have to be day olds or adults to ship, (I remember reading that somewhere on the usps website in the section on mailing birds) I have 3- 3 week olds and one that hatched a couple days ago.

Hi, all! I'm looking for a breeding age Cream Legbar boy. Sadly I just lost my only one during the horrible heat wave we had. Does anyone have one for sale? I'm in SC. Temps won't be too bad early next week and I'm hoping it would be okay to ship. Thanks!

I have had chickens shipped to me at any age from day olds up 2-3 weeks old then also 6-8 weeks old. Not sure after that but I do see people selling and shipping them all the time at any age. you just have to know how to make sure they have enough to get them thru the journey. mine have come with grow-gel (sp?), fruit, feed and have all been overnighted. obviously weather is a factor too. :)

I have a cream legbar roo that came directly from greenfire last year that I can't give away...I have 2 roos and keep hatching so many cockerals... we are going to cull him, feel bad since he isn't aggressive...

Oh No! Sorry to hear that :( You are by far the closest driving distance to me on the Cream Legbar list! I was hoping you would be producing soon. This heat has been terrible. When the laying hens just want to sit around you know it is hot. I don't know how the meat birds in our area are making it.

Glad to see some new faces!
