If I understand you correctly--you would like a bigger cream legbar presence on the breeds pages...and anyone with good cream legbar pictures can go and add info. It would be great to have some of our excellent photos and more information added to the page linked above. The idea is to keep our information together.... (you can click on the above screen shot to enlarge it)

so on the breeds page, a click on the pencil icon circled above...and great additions to cream legbar info. If someone posts please add a link so we can all see the results.

Hmm, maybe we could trade some eggs? i have rhodebars that should start laying pretty soon. I'd love to get a new autosexing breed!

I hear Jaerhorns are a hardy breed.
My Crele Penedesenca are too. ( auto sexing that is) oh and hopefully a stout breed lol

Yep, very hardy. I did some looking in to Jaerhon. I even spend some time on the Norwegian chicken forums with goggle translations since their is so little information on the breed (not any more in Norway than here really). They are excellent layers. Especially for winter production in areas with snowy winters (unlike Texas). A breeder in the hot climate also said they were her best layers in extreme summer temperatures so it look like they handle all extremes. What attracted my attention is them it that they lay Large egg, but the hens only weight 3 lbs. I have some 6 pound hens that only lay Large eggs so the size to bird is outstanding. Then when I found out that they were autosexting (they have both autosomal and sexlinked baring like the Cambar project where Punnet stumbled onto the Autosexting ability of the sexlinked barring) I had to learn everything about them. The breed is also known for flying. In Norway they call them telephone line birds because they like to roost on house tops and phone lines. Fascinating birds. I have three breeds now (and only really have room for two), but if I had four breeds the Jaerhons would be the fourth.

They all arrived alive and safe. Thanks Richard for sending me Wilbur, Charlotte, Fern and Templeton. They are settling in nicely.


I will post more pictures of them soon. But I can tell you that they make my birds I hatched from Ebay look awful! Can't wait for my new coop to bed done...Both Wilbur and Templeton will get their own breeding suite! For now they have to spend some time in this brooder though.

I am so excited...I finally have some good Cream Legbars on my property.  Last night my four juveniles from Jordan Farm came...getting that phone call from the PO was wonderful.  They all arrived alive and safe.  Thanks Richard for sending me Wilbur, Charlotte, Fern and Templeton.  They are settling in nicely. 


I will post more pictures of them soon.  But I can tell you that they make my birds I hatched from Ebay look awful!  Can't wait for my new coop to bed done...Both Wilbur and Templeton will get their own breeding suite!  For now they have to spend some time in this brooder though.

I love my Jaerhons..Very sweet! I'm so glad I got them...

the flying part scares me lol. I have a hard enough time keeping my icelandic's out of the trees. Very wooded and forested where I live.
