Day 22 and I finally have a pip!

I have three different batches of marans in the bator! The first batch is due tomorrow! Blackl copper and blues. Then, the next batch are egg DH bought from ebay. They're due May 7. And the third batch is actually the darkest, I won them from ilovefrizzles in the online egg chain, and they just went in this morning! Currently hatching.....blue orps.

Lockdown tonight, 15/21 left in the in the bator. No real hope for 2 of those, just afraid to make a mistake.

Day 19 and I have a pip in one of my mix eggs. White rock/ameraucana. I see those marans rocking though. Cant wait!!!

Over the weekend I had 7 Solid Blue Marans (from Peachick auction) hatch. They are beautiful, nice and strong. Out of the 7 there are 2 black, 3 blue and 2 splash. Now I'm hoping they are all girls....

...as I already have 4 roosters.

Proud owner of my very first marans.

I have 3 marans out so far. The other 5 arent doing anything yet. I sure hope they do. All together I have 14 chicks hatched and one pipped. The rest I am still waiting.

I have some 18 pips on my 30 cuckoo marans eggs this morning!!! this is my first experience with hatching marans. Since the shells are so much harder than other eggs, I am wondering if there something I need to watch out for on the hatching? I would hate for them to tire out & die from trying to get out of those hard shells if there is something I can do. My humidity is 65 and temp is 100.
