I figured out how to PM! I know there is a place called poultry haven close to me i have purchased a roo and 2 "14 week old" pullets from there one of the Pullets died two days later and the other hasn't grown at all. The rest of my little Flock is doing well and thriving but not old enough to lay. I just and looking to add a few laying hens so my husband will quit crying about how much he has invested in chickens and he hasn't even got an egg. lol.

I don't have any red birds. I have Marans that are over a year and molting. I will have some pullets in a few weeks. they are project birds and my roo died. I am going to hatch every egg till they are all clear and sell the whole pen.....I think. they are blue rocks. very pretty and good layers too.

I have chicks and more chicks and more than Carol saw yesterday lol. I have several ads on craigslist I can't remember what all off the top of my head.

BTW I have some chicks from those project birds that missed the genes I wanted and if anyone on here wants them they are $1 Each for straight run chicks for just layers really. not for breeding.
AND if any from byc wants some chicks that are on don I will do Bogo free for y'all.

When you get some new birds, be sure to quarantine.

I don't have anything really good or really bad to say about that place. The lady was nice enough and the Rooster I got from her is beautiful I can't say the same about the pullets. I was hoping to find someone that has some hens on a smaller scale rather than go back there and trying again. I did Quarantine those guys. I big on that with my parrots I I figured it was the same for the chickens. DMRippy How much are you asking for the Marans? You can PM me if you want too. Thank you all!

Speaking of, is there a place (other than here) that we can get info on places that provide/sell/etc chicks? I got mine from Tim and Susie Hen House in Scottsville, KY and am quite happy with them. When I was looking for chicks, I had checked out the Gallatin Co-Op first, as I heard they had them, but they had stopped carrying them for the season when I got there. Someone there told me that T&S was good, but to stay away from the Tractor Supply in Gallatin as everyone he knew that got chicks there, most of the chicks died. I can't say, myself, either way on that, and I'm not one to bad-mouth a place, but it's good to know if there are good and not-so-good places to get chicks. But, is there somewhere that folks can rate providers?
