Volunteer State Poultry Club is hosting its Fall Swap at the Log Cabin Flea Market Grounds on Highway 46 in Dickson, from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Space rental is $12.

Ain't no fair. I was just thru there this past Sunday on my way home.
Too bad it wasn't last weekend.
 
Ok I have decided that come spring, when I am able to build a bigger coop, I want to add a few new birds to the flock. I am dying to get my hands on some Australorps, Rhode Island Reds, Wyandottes, and Delawares. My son has already bought 13 pullets that will arrive in spring for the Rutherford Co. 4H program. We have to auction 5 of them and get to keep the rest. They said they will be sending New Hampshire pullets. He is so excited to get to have his own chickens :) He is 9 yrs old and helps a lot with mine. Anyway, I just love the idea od adding some breeds I don't yet have.
 
Great news! But be carefull chickens are addictive you will end up with 13 (or more) pens like me and we are not even going to talk about Donna LOL
By the way speaking of Donna--- I do believe it is, or was, or will be your Birthday today,soon, just past????

who was it that had a neighbor make them a feeder from the guy in Australia? how do you like it? I made a test one and another 2 today....tomorrow I will make loads. is it working well?

Loads is a understatement you have like 400 birds lol I have 30 and I think I am nuts lol.. Next spring I am gonna focus on silver seabrights then move on to my Phoenix flock...
