Nella, I should be taking my grandmother her chickens on Tues. so I'll have the money soon, so we can talk about meeting up at LC Feeds or something after Tues, preferably not a weekend so DH has no idea what I'm doing

like someone on here always says (HBuehler?) it's easier to ask for forgiveness after the fact...

Jen, that's why we must love our roosters just as much as we love our hens

Wednesday after 6:30 or Thursday after 7 is fine for me.....going out of town Friday through Sunday. Monday any time would be fine as I took the day off. Otherwise, any weeknight after 6:30pm....don't get off work until 5:30 and have to drive from turkey creek back home, yada yada yada.....

yes Monday 1/31. I should be home alllll day.

I only work til 5:30, but dont get home til 6. and by the time I let the dogs out and lock the chickens up and load any chickens that you want into the car and drive to LC feeds, it'll be at least 6:30. Sigh.

We'll do it monday then, Lc closes at 6... I figured I'd buy my feed if I'd be out that way to buy chickens. Have fun where ever you are going!!

Thanks for the welcome.
I have around 50 birds. Stopped counting after awhile. You can never have enough so why bother counting lol.
I have only LF with the exception of one mixed bantam roo that is a sweet heart.
RIR roo
Americana roo (not sure if he is true since I have never had him looked at but his dad was true americana from another BYC member)

Hens:
barred rocks
BSL
turkens
buff orphington
RIR
EEs
black austrolorps
and several mutts that lay well enough to keep around

I am currently thinking about getting some delewares and RIWs to mix with my RIR roo and make RSLs.

Algopurple-if you decide to get some RIW we have some of the straight comb variety that we have used for our RSL that could be for sale.I know we have 3-4 that are last Summer chicks they are either laying now or will be soon...we are selling lots of big birds right now to make more room for my breeders over layers.
My entire flock of Barred Rocks is for sale..we have them in black barred and blue barred older layers still laying to new hatch. These are your common quality but fantastic layers.

HB,
I would like to get a couple of your black barred rock pullets/hens. Let me know if we can meet up and where. I live down almost to Alabama but work in Nashville.

Sounds like a plan. I'll need feed by then too. Want me to just pick out one of my leghornX hens? or do you a preference? Less spots, more spots, etc etc etc....LOL.
