It was $179 with shipping. Not cheap but not crazy expensive either. So far I am having a hard time getting the humidity up to 60 I"m at 53 now. It has a lot of chambers in the bottom to fill with water. The instructions said only fill the 2 chambers. But it's not enough. So, I have been filling up the other chambers 1 at a time till I hit 60. 3 filled got me to 53. If after adding water to all chambers I might have to just mist it every so often.I will let you know if it holds.

Also it only reads Celsius not Fahrenheit. Google has been my friend. I just wrote all the conversions down so I wont forget.

It came programmed to alarm if humidity gets below 45% and the temp @ 38c with alarm sounding if it goes above or below 1 degree c. I found it to be too high. The high end would fry the eggs. I'd rather have it too cold than too hot, for short times anyway. I reprogrammed the temp to 37.6c (99.68F)

The egg turner it came with seems to work fine. Every 2 hours it moves them.

It has a count up to hatch day too, as well as a count down every 2 hours for the egg turner. I'm not sure why that helps to know but it looks cool.

It is plastic and not insulated. I may need to wrap the bottom part with hot water heater wrap if It can't hold temp. But so far no big spikes. It has been dipping down to 37.1c( 98.78F) and up to 37.8c (100.04F) I have it set to 37.6c (99.68F) Mama hens do leave the nest and fluffy up the air. I'm not sure if it matters in the long run.

For a still air incubator the temp needs to be around 102*F and for one w/ a fan its 99.5*F. 60% humidity is not good! I keep mine around 25% up until lockdown at day 18, then boost it up to 60%ish. You can candle up to lockdown as needed :) Enjoy your hatch!

is anyone on here in the middle TN area interested in about 6 week old super blue egg layer roo's? I will give them away, as we are about to move out of state and there is no reason for me to keep and feed them.

anyone......anyone........Ferris Bueller?......LOL

So, I've got chicks hatching right now. Would it be alright for me to place these newbies in the brooder with the 3 week old chicks I presently have in there? They are 3 weeks old today?
