The ones I've hatched in bators always go 28 days like clockwork - lockdown at 25 days. Very high % hatches.

These things are hardy! I've had clutches hatch in the pouring ration in tall grass and they are amazingly resilient. I no longer use a bator for guineas because they hatch so many on their own. I give away hundreds every year. But give them away young because they will come back if you don't.

Ok when you start giving them away send some my way!! I have horrible success trying to hatch anything here!!

I think 28 days is a rare event for most who hatch guinea.... 26 seems to be the norm.

I don't find them to be that hearty. If they get wet they die even with heat the first week or 2.

OK.... I am coming out of the FOG and I have talked with Troy and we have a plan. So far I have had 2 requests (if I missed someone sorry I really have been in a fog) @Cinny He has a black crested White that is about a year old if you want her. He also has a younger pair (he thinks it is a pair) White crested Blacks (I may take them) @Penny Hen requested Silkies he has a pair I think.... I could take them too if you have changed your mind.

ANYBODY ELSE????? He has a splash Marans, a Blue SEX Linked Marans X BR cross, White leghorn, 2 EE.... can't remember the rest but if anyone is interested let me know. Some mixed Polish x EE and a SL Polish too...they are younger.

He is going to move them to his neighbors after I have filled all requests.

I forgot an update.....

He is hoping they will move her to a Rehab tomorrow if not, soon after. She is doing ok.... talking a little more everyday but still it was an extensive stroke.

Prayers being sent Troys way from my church and I.

I started building my coolerbator today. I got the viewing Window done and the holes drilled. I'm just waiting on my water heater thermostat and my thermometer/hydrometer to get here. Hopefully it will be here in the next few days. I wired the fan already. I'm very impressed with my self. Lol even if hubby thinks I'm weird.

I would HIGHLY recommend a digital thermostat..... I lost several chicks and hatches to the WHT. You might have to wait longer but in the long run it would be worth it.... promise!

It has a COOL function too in case it gets too hot it can activate a fan.

I lost the black/white one last Nov to a dog, my dog, but still have the two chocolates. I lucked out and ended up with a male and a female. My female has 12 eggs in a nest right now and is just starting to set. They stay on the creek during the day and at night come to the house and roost in the chicken coop with my chickens. Her next is also in the coop behind a sheet of plywood that I propped up against the wall in hopes of her nesting there instead of on the creek bank and it worked. If all goes well and we end up with extra drakes, which if they hatch you know we will, you would be welcome to a drake.
What colors did yours end up being?

Ours are two buff colored, and one black with wonky wings. The black one just had the cutest chicks that are black and white but the heads are mostly white. I think a Swedish was the daddy! I would love to have a purebred drake if you have extras!

This little guy is 10 weeks old and Id love to find him a good home!! We are in college grove. Let me know if you might be interested!

The hens are 1 Blk and 1 blk crested white that is poorly marked. None are being sold as "breeders" just layers. Hens are $15.00 ea. others are $5.00-$8.00. I will have some Chocolate layers as soon as I get around to sorting also. shoot me a message if interested I will be putting them on CL soon.
