The Middle Tennessee Thread

Go figure. I don't usually have to drop deicers in all the buckets until after Christmas. Dug them out and plugged them in yesterday. Glad those things have built in thermostats - prevents me from having to use thermocubes on all of them.
I think it's a stew kind of dinner tonight. ;-)

This weather is so weird, it's 29° but feels like 18°, and we're scrambling to winterize the farm. Water heaters, bedding, feed prepping, shelter prepping, etc. it all needs to be done and soon! My mom and I are going to TSC right now to stock up on everything, then we'll come back and set it all up. Eek!

Google is your friend. I'm not sure how accurate this is, but I found it in about 30 seconds on Google:
Columbia, TN. The City Code mentioned chickens, but simply says to not let them run at large, nor to let them come within 1,000 feet of any residence, place of business, or public street without a permit from the city manager.

You could always call the town and ask them

Thank you I guess this is one of those times with getting harried about moving makes you overlook the obvious! Thank you again!

I may not be going to Knoxville as all the orders I have gotten so far are getting delivered this weekend, but one for @jlynnp .

If anyone else wants to get in on this trip just message me. I will get everything packed up tomorrow for the trip Sunday.

Well, thank goodness I read the farmers almanc in aug., it said the first deep freeze would be nov 4-8th. we began winterizing in Oct., because my husband works 3pm to 4am, so we can only work together on weekends. For the first year we were ready and had all waterers attached to thermocubes by Saturday-which reminds me, I need to plug in the dog's bowl. I will be checking their website from now on. I do wish we could need dmrippy for some SBEL chicks, maybe spring time in nashville?
