Wow! That is weird. I wonder if you can sex them by color as chicks? Guess we'll know in a few weeks when I see how mine turn out, huh?

I've had company for the fourth, sorry I have not replied. CityGirlintheCountry I would love some chickens and anybody else has the ones I listed. Be warned- No roos, or they go in the pot!! my bedroom is the closest to the pasture and the donkey brays enough as it is. My husband is suppose to start soon on a small 36' coop with run as a coop now and grow out tractor for next year--I'll post as soon as I can take in chickens, only have room for 8. That is a wonderful horse posted earlier--have to post a pic of our flock protector J. J./ he's 8 and just had his feet trimed the first time yesterday, thank goodness we found a great farrier--he really took his time, and tried to make the experiance good for my donkey. Who knew donkeys spook at chaps??

Baahh! I can't hardly stand waiting on these chicks to hatch. These are my first shipped chicks, and I've got more on the way. I just want to see a chicken hatched out, it's early still, they're due Friday, but I can't help but go look at those eggs every 10 minutes or so.

Woo hoo! I got home today and 5 of my 8 are hatched and the other 3 have pips. They are all still wet, so I guess they popped like popcorn! They are a day early, which is fine with me. The two gray ones are the lemon blues, and I'm extra happy to get the red. The other two are mottled frizzles.

I also got my golden lakenvelder eggs in the mail today, so soon as these all hatch and fluff out I'll be off and running again. Then I'm done... for real!
