And Emmalynn, the meet ups don't actually help, because then you learn people's REAL names and then you have two names to remember for everyone. It is terribly confusing.

Emmalynn - What a beautiful horse!!

I have a bad feeling that no matter how large the coop/run are I will always think I need more room. It's that darn chicken math.

Matlock - are they standard cochins or bantam?

Holly- I got two cochins out. Both are yellow with some blue smudges. What are they? I'll try to get pictures one of these days. Both are pretty darn adorable!

Troyerchicks,
mine are lemon/blue cochin banties, but I misinformed you. I've only got two. The egg I threw out the other day was one of them. I never trusted that one either, it was almost completely round, looked like a ping pong ball. I hope these two hatch.

Can you believe she was free....the people could not afford to feed her and didn't have enough pasture either.

I have a list of chores and people are coming to look at goats and chicks so I doubt I will be back on for a few days...SO...everyone have a great 4th of July!!

emmalynn,
I know you just got done saying you won't be on for a couple days, but here are some of my 3d drawings for a medium stilted coop. I will use this design for my favorite breeds that I want to keep pure, and not get mixed with the others. Hope it helps. I use google sketchup to design, it's free, and I use autocad to lay out my plans, but that one ain't free.

Anne those will be blue or blue mottled..with the roo that I had in there either is possible and since he's a frizzle they could frizzle Your right they are adorable

I have 4 of them running around right now..I mean running around they can walk through the 1" wire so last night I had to close up the bottom rows to keep them in with momma hen
Nice design Matlock..we thought about something like that but if your doing a few it's cheaper to do a big divided coop with covered runs so we went in that direction...once and going to start another 8x16 this fall

Oh on those lemon blues it can be deceiving...many people call the blue with buff cross lemon blue when they get a mix of the colors but those are not true lemon blue's so if you really want lemon blue make sure that's not what your buying.

Well... Here I am, 25 bucks outta my pocket for some golden lakenvelder eggs off ebay... I'll barely have time to clean the incubator out from the cochin banties. I need serious help... and lots of lumber and wire!

Matlock, I just hatched out two golden lakenvelder chicks and they are adorable! Both are really zippy too. I can't wait to see what they turn into. One is really dark and the other really light. I'll try to get pictures for you.
