Raven has the awesome Marans you won't find any nicer but you will pay more if you go somewhere else.
My Blue Wheaten Ameraucana pen is on vacation after loosing my favorite hen I sold the rest but kept Levi-I may be crazy but I'm not stupid!! And have a few nice chicks growing up for next year.I do have A few free young roos if anyone wants to get some nice EE chicks going. I also had the white but sold them last year..those darn Wyandotte's keep taking more and more of my space

and it's going to get worse.
I hatch 12 months out of the year..oh wait that is all year

and they all do fine..the summer chicks will have a higher mortality rate and much more susceptible to things like cocci than the real early spring chicks but it's been so darn muddy here all of my young birds have been on the precautionary dose of Corrid for a few weeks..this baking hot sun will end that though.
Since I now know when I'm going on vacation..or not going I'm setting more of my Wyandotte eggs they should have just enough time to hatch before we go.

We have a few new chicks popping out from under broodies but lost one after pipping for some reason...she's not a very good momma hen though.

Ok about time for me to go get some new cute chick pictures...and I can't forget about the bunnies!

Jenski-at least we are not in Mt Juliet building decks this month after today..

When it rains it pours but the droughts can be long. Can you imagine though 14,000 sqft. and 34' ceilings in places...could get lost in that house..or take one room and turn it into the Critter area now that's an idea!! Oh it's all one floor-I think they call that a strip mall or something.

We have Australorps and Orpingtons. They are both quiet and calm. The orps have been laying for over a month now and they are very consistent. The orps are the sweetest most gentle ones I have. (I was also introduced to bantam cochins by some awful enablers here on BYC and I ADORE those little hens!!)
I would love to add some easter eggers just to see my kids' face when they go check for eggs and find a blue or green one!

Good luck and welcome!!

I have NO idea who she's talking about...No not me..But every kid needs a bantam Cochin or two or a dozen..once you have one your hooked. I'm over run with EE hens right now..already laying if you need a few more and a few that should be laying within a few months. I have more of those cute Cochin's

Well Holly - my dear hubby just might have to build a second run. Our coop is 6x11 but the run-on-wheels is only 8x8. Need. More. Room!!

Wouldn't happen to have any lemon/blue cochins? I saw them on the breed section here but not sure if anyone really has any.

No lemon blues here...I had a few lg one's but they were not that pretty..for bantams the Mille Fleur is enough of a project for me plus so much more color

I know all about the need to expand..kids have a bunny house in the plans and I really could use one more small chicken house..the size of my new chick house or so...small

Troyer- thanks for the warm thoughts. You should have been told that the 14,000 sq foot space that Anne is doing just might be big enough coop, may need even more space. I guess you can tell that you can have enough coop space. I know I never do.

Anne no worries..he doesn't let me near many of them..He does all of that work and I have to do all the paperwork and making sure insurance forms and all that stuff is signed and where it needs to be..then I get to collect the money
clap.gif
I also get to do all the running so he can stay and get the job done.I never know when he will call and send me somewhere I really don't want to go....unless there is a chicken or a bunny at the end I would rather stay home in the swimming pool

I should really stop trying to put the right name to the right face until I attend one of the meets. I appreciate everyone's patience with my ever increasing blonde moments...is this the sign of early Alzheimer's?

Just wanting to share:
