Congrats Countrypunk! Love new fuzzy butts!
I'm with DMPirry,I use marbles in my water jars, well not in the jar but the lids!,It sure saves a lot of chicks!

Got 20 new parakeets today! Have picked out three pair to keep and will resale the rest. They are really pretty, only one plain blue and one plain green, the rest are either yellow graywings or yellow pied or both!. I already had two pair and one of them has four babys!

Also had three little guniea pigs born today. Will try and get pics of all the new stuff tomorrow.I think I need to open a farm critter/pet store! WQell I guess it would never work because I would want to keedp everything, like working in a bakery and eating all the profits!lol

The cool down is nice but I hope the young birds hold up with it. I have some chicks inside the shed with lights and some in a covered pen outside with a light. Looks like I am going to have several extra little Serama roos if anyone wants one or two or three!

Very worth the sdrive. Go early because alot of stuff goes fast. There is a silkie breeder who was there with 50 full grown blue and splash silkies.. 2 hours and they was gone. Ive seen everything there and can come in good prices, I haggled a guy into 14 birds by only trading 2 knifes and a leghorn.

Congrats on the babies Okla! And Ive kinda been looking for a parrot, fonure or macaw. Shouldnt get one, but if its cheep enough......

Your are too sweet. Thanks for the help! Vet tape and Gatorade will do!!! Should I force some water in her? I have not seen her eat or drink really. She is very cute and I would hate to lose her. She would be an olive egger and she is black so all the more special to me

You and drip drops on her beak but I really don't worry too much with the food and water for the first 3 days. I would not force anything at this point.

DMRippy, I had a marans chick who did not walk by himself . . . seemed like he did not need splints since his problem was standing up in the first place, so I took an old bathroom rug and got him walking on it every day - - "chick physical therapy," LOL! I would get him on the rug 3-4 times a day and help him get up, then with the traction the rug gave him he learned to walk. He was wobbly at first, but he grew into a strong, enormous, gorgeous rooster.

Don't know if that info will help, but it's worth a try. I agree that time is of the essence! Good luck.

Vet wrap and Gatorade today and if she is not better in a couple of days I will work with her on a rug too. I do think she just can't get her leg under her I will check the tendon like you said too Trisha.

In case you weren't aware of it there is a swap/sale in Dickson tomorrow the 17th. I posted the info in the show/swap topic.

Hi TN friends! I'm in Nashville for a conference and have all day Sunday free. Anything I just HAVE to do while I'm here? Any good shopping (not generic malls, etc)? Suggestions please!
