The Middle Tennessee Thread

Oh, I'd love some more - but common sense WILL prevail, and I will not add anymore eggs to this hatch.

Thanks for the offer, though!
I have no common sense - I will hatch them haha.

Sorry about your chicks. I'm new here and do not know who raises what.
This winter I have 2 buff orp and 1 dom hen and a buff orp roo. I also have a
young pair of red golden pheasants. I would like to hatch a dozen or two
of black australorps eggs mid to late Feb. but have not found anyone who
has eggs. Can anyone here help me out? I live about 15 miles from Sparta
but do not mind driving anywhere I used to carry rabbits up to Portland every
couple of weeks. I like hatching my own chicks better than buying from a
hatchery. Thanks Name is Butch

Hey, Butch! Welcome to the Middle TN thread. There are a ton of us around here and it seems that everybody hatches like crazy. Do be warned that the whole lot of us are a bunch of enablers. We cannot be trusted.

I don't have australorps, but I bet someone local does.

I would love to see pictures of your pheasants if you have any. They sound lovely!

I saw someone on CL had some that were a 4h project. You could see if they have hatching eggs.

I also saw some Partridge Wyandottes for sale on CL from the Foley's

it was hard to not email them for some eggs, but my bator is going to full again really soon, and no room for grown birds.

Hey, Donna! I have heard a rumor that you might be interested in a blue ameraucana rooster. I have a young one growing out that I am 99% sure is a boy and he needs a new home. The others are picking on him and he's getting his rump kicked. He's a GORGEOUS dark blue. He should be quite the looker when he's grown. Are you interested? He's still to young to be interested in girls, but by late spring he should be quite the baby maker.

The Wheaten part is what you missed.... I am looking for a young Blue Wheaten AM Roo.... I am not to worried as I have some hatching eggs from a couple of people coming. I know the boys will mature before my Wheaten pullets start laying.... haha. I would love to one day have some blue ams, but I better stop.... I already have too many breeds and colors.... I may have to build some more breeding pens in the spring at the rate I am going.

With the SLW and Silver Penciled Rocks coming and now that the Lavs are taking THREE pens... I am running out of space, QUICK!!!! I have one empty pen and it was for storing my feed and stuff in. I need it now for my NH roo that is coming of age. I still don't know where the SLW and SPPR are going to live, but I have time. Oh no I am in trouble....

Must process soon... I found a couple of suspect roos in my pullet pen.... I knew they were really roos....
