I'm so sorry, Donna. It completely stinks when a hatch goes wrong. Matlock is right though. Even with hen hatching there are a lot of things out of our control. Incubator hatching is fraught with peril.

I'm so sorry that you lost your babies.

Donna,
That is really crappy. So much work into getting them out of the egg.... Hope you get it fixed soon before your next group is ready. Don't kick yourself about not getting them out the night before, hindsight is always 20/20.

Thanks guys. I got a new thermostat today it is just a stop gap measure. I will test it tomorrow. I am going to order some, if I can find them again, that are more sophisticated and change it over.

I put ten araucana eggs (shipped) and 5 eggs from my own chickens in the incubator today. Going to monitor humidity and temp very carefully - hope I have a better hatch than last time.

You need some more? I have 2nd gen Olive Eggers you could hatch if you want. It will take me a couple of days to get some together. I have 2 from today. I just set 7 as a test.

Oh, I'd love some more - but common sense WILL prevail, and I will not add anymore eggs to this hatch.

Thanks for the offer, though!
