Oh well that just sucks! What kind was your thermostat? I'd sure hate to have that happen. If they are prone to going out I'd rather buy a new one every year. I use the water heater type.
Once I figured out it was the thermostat guilt left me, except the part about I should have taken most of them out last night.... never again... dry babies in the brooder at the end of the day.I'd chalk that to coincidence. Nothing you can do about it. Simple mechanical failure. I mean incubating kinda defies the basic laws of the good LORD, so I'd feel lucky for all the chicks you've hatched with that one, and just possess the knowledge that that might happen from time to time. It really sucks it was your hatcher, I feel your pain, but in the end, you did everything fine. It's just one of those things you can't do anything about.
So you actually lost some hatched chicks? That scares me, I'm never home and neither is my family. We are all gone from 6 in the morning till 5:30 at night. I worry way too much for that. I thought you were saying your eggs didn't hatch cause they got too hot. I'm doubly sorry now. God bless....
