I am working on breeding wyandottes, So better quality is going to be more expensive. 9 dollars is expensive, but if you go to greenfire farms, their birds range from 30-400 bucks per day old chicks..
I totally unsterstand holly. Bio-security is inportant. I wouldnt beable to meet him, he is closer then I thought, but still kinda far for me. I will see if I can split an order or something. Im putting my glw roo and two other laying hens with the slw till I get glw or slw. Poor girl is alone now.
I haven't see anything out of GFF that I would buy..... Price does not equate quality. I know those wyandotte in KY are quality but you have to buy or hatch a lot to get good breeders. So if you just buy a couple you may still end up with birds you don't want to breed, your odds are better with better parents, but no guarantee. 1 out of 10 is a breeder. Those are SHOW birds and that is different that what I want. Most people you would sell to just have backyard flocks and are not going to pay a high price for the chicks so it will take longer for you to get your money back. You can do it but you can't sell them for $9 like him.

If you go to get some in KY let me know, I MAY get a couple. I am not paying 40 for shipping, I can fill my car up for that and have some left in the tank.

Donna- Let me know when you put the blacks together. I will gladly buy eggs. They were such a beautiful trio. SIGH.
DH has not gotten rid of one, not even one, of his chickens but I had to sell my Ameraucanas. He is so on my S*&T list for that one.

Becky, I don't see any pics..... how do you sell birds without pic..... 15 is the min. are they just straight run? Country you want some? we can split it and I will pick them up in Lebanon from Becky and met you somewhere between portland and nashville. Kinda a chicken train thing.... they may not be for breeding, but I want egg layers too.

Donna, the number in ( ) is the most of that breed you can get in a single order. We have to have a min. order of 25,or 50. The only bad part is you have to send money and order by mail and then they will tell you when it can ship. So I would like to get an order together as soon as we can so we have the best chance to get them early instead of having to wait all summer. If Okla, Country, you, me, and Nickolas all order together we will probaly get 50. Shipping is $15.00 for 25 and 19.00 for 50. So split up that is nothing, I really hate it when shipping bumps up the cost so much, thats why spliting helps so much. So every body have a look and let me know!
