okay I have chicks approximately 12 weeks old that want to sleep outside on a roost, instead of in the coop on the roost. will this cause a problem in the future ? this is the first time it happened and I move them from the outside roost to the coop. then I closed the pop door and left them in the coop for the night . I'm thinking they may be having problems getting up to the roost in the coop so I planned to build small platforms to allow them to hop up to the roost . my coop is only 4 foot wide so I have the roost approximately 16 inches apart and 16 inches from each wall. I've read they need a eighteen inches from each wall to keep them from pooping on the walls, but would think 16 should allow them to get up there

Becky your eggs are in lockdown, 1 was oozing and smelled so I tossed it. But I wanted to double check so I know what I am tagging. The eggs marked S are from your SPLASH pen and should NOT have any copper? The eggs marked with a B are from your COPPER pen and I will get blue and black Coppers?

Yes Maam! Good Luck, how many did you get to the lockdown stage? The ones marked S will most likely be Blue and if you get real lucky I have gotten blue cuckoo from that roo. My guess is he was Splashed Cuckoo. He was not feather legged so he went. I have a BBBBeautiful Splash boy in there now and will start collecting his girls eggs in a few more weeks and see what he can do. Watch those solids close and let me know if you even see hint of copper please

Till the BLRW eggs get here. But that will be my last hatch for a little while. REALLY!

I have chicks, it you know someone that needs some. I have some NH and some clean legged cuckoo marans (blue and reg) I kinda think that is it for now. I have a few more hatching, but not many that would be for sale.

I have to get these pullets out to growout pens ASAP. I am going to use the breeding pens as grow outs for now. By the time they are big enough to put in their reg pens I will have some more to go in their growout pens.

Another reason I need a break.

sorry bout the chick. i know you need a Roo. If you need them just hang on to them, no problem. I dont really " NEED " anymore right now i jsut thought if you had them

i might slip some unnoticed into the coop, you know without the wifes knowledge.

Like shes ever even been out to the coop since i put the chicks out there.

i just dont understand some peoples complete inability to be facinated by the antics of animals.
