matlock585, sorry about your house fire, I'm glad you were able to save stuff. We had a laundry room fire when I was a teenager, the fire was out quickly but the burnt smell and soot was everywhere. We clean walls, clothes, ect. with the Simply Green, it worked quite well removing odors and the soot.

trust me its worth it. i drive almost that far round trip. they will probably have 800 to 1000 cages. possible more. i went in the spring and didn't leave until 11pm. very long day. got there at 9 am.

ooo so tempting but I also want to go to the show in Calhoun, Ga Saturday morning - this chicken obsession has taken me over & making me crazier than I already was!
I might have to pass this time & get my husband to take a day off in the spring to go with me, if I can convince him a days vacation burnt to go to a chicken auction is better than fishing

the prices for chickens at the last auction ranged mostly $10-$25 and they were sold in groups or pairs. who knows what they'll do tomorrow. also, it's my understanding the sale starts at 10 am (not 1pm as I think I saw someone mentioned)

ok. for those who have never attended the cookville sale on friday, as i have. the sale starts at 9 am. they sell outside junk first. then move inside to the main sale ring and start selling the livestock that are not poultry. they do not have a set time to start in the second sale ring witch is the poultry barn. my first trip there i got there at 8.30 am and soon found out that the chickens wouldnt start selling until at least 2 pm. and as i said they do not have a set time to start. never have they started poultry before 1.30 pm that i have attended. now if you want to go and be there at 9 am and the birds you want dont sell until 8 pm and then you have a two hr wait in the payout line then you dont get out of there until midnight. be my guest. i have been there and done that. with this economy, i would guess 1500 plus cages.

Hey guys I have several laying hens LF and Bantam for sale. Most all the LF are Marans of one color or another. The Bantam are mixes, Cochin, Silkie, NN, Japs. Dutch a few are frizzled. For my fellow BYCers I have a set price of $10 on LF and $5 on Bantys
